Galatians Chapter 6
Showing all 18 verses for Galatians Chapter 6.
The People's Bible is written by people, for the people. Each verse below shows:
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. "
"Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritually mature should gently restore that person β but watch yourselves too, in case you're tempted the same way."
When someone messes up, my instinct is always restoration, not exposure or punishment. Approach a struggling friend the way you'd want to be approached yourself β remembering you're not above the same fall.
"Bear ye one anotherβs burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. "
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ."
You were never meant to carry your hardest struggles completely alone, and neither is the person next to you. Show up for each other β that's what following me actually looks like in practice.
"For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. "
"For if anyone thinks they're something special when they're really nothing, they're only fooling themselves."
An inflated view of yourself isn't confidence β it's a blind spot. Stay honest about who you really are; it's the only way to love others without condescension.
"But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. "
"Instead, each person should examine their own actions β then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else."
Stop measuring your worth by comparing yourself to the people around you β that game never ends well for anyone. Examine your own life honestly instead; that's where real growth happens.
"For every man shall bear his own burden. "
"For each person will have to carry their own load."
I want you to support others generously, but I also want you to take real ownership of your own life and choices β true community doesn't mean losing your own responsibility.
"Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. "
"The person who is taught the word should share all good things with the one who teaches them."
Don't take freely from someone who's invested in your growth without also giving something back. Generosity towards those who've genuinely helped you isn't optional β it's basic gratitude.
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. "
"Don't be fooled β God cannot be mocked. Whatever a person plants, that's exactly what they'll harvest."
I'm not fooled by appearances, and neither, eventually, is reality itself. What you're planting with your daily choices β in your relationships, your habits, your character β is exactly what will grow.
"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. "
"The person who plants seed for their own selfish nature will harvest ruin from that selfish nature; but the person who plants seed for the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit."
Every day, you're planting something with how you spend your attention and energy. Ask honestly what you're actually cultivating β because it will grow into exactly what it is.
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. "
"And let's not grow tired of doing good, because at the right time we will reap a harvest, if we don't give up."
I know that doing good can feel unrewarded for a long time, and that's genuinely hard. Don't quit right before the harvest β your persistence isn't wasted, even when you can't see the fruit yet.
"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. "
"So then, whenever we have the opportunity, let's do good to everyone β especially to those who belong to the family of faith."
Look for chances to do good wherever you find them, starting with the people closest to you. Small, seized opportunities add up to a life that actually makes a difference.
"Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. "
"See what large letters I'm using, writing to you with my own hand."
I want you to know when something matters enough that I put my own hand to it personally. Pay close attention to what someone chooses to say in their own words, at the end, when it counts most.
"As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should persecution for the cross of Christ. "
π‘ Highlighted words feature Jacobean 1611 tooltips to clarify shifted 17th-century English terms.
"Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are the ones pressuring you to be circumcised β only so they can avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ."
Be wary of anyone pushing you towards compliance mainly to protect their own reputation or comfort, rather than out of real care for you. Motive matters as much as the message.
"For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. "
"For not even those who are circumcised actually keep the law themselves β they just want you to be circumcised so they can boast about your outward compliance."
Don't let anyone use your compliance as a badge for their own reputation. Real spiritual growth is never about becoming someone else's trophy.
"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. "
"But may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."
What are you actually building your pride and identity on? Let it be something that frees you from needing the world's approval, not something that keeps you chasing it.
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. "
"For in Christ Jesus, neither being circumcised nor not being circumcised means anything β what matters is being a new creation."
What I care about isn't your credentials or category, but whether you're actually becoming someone new β more loving, more free, more alive. That transformation is the real measure of a life.
"And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. "
"And as many as live by this principle β peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God."
My blessing isn't reserved for one group defined by birth or background β it rests on anyone who genuinely lives out this new way of freedom and love.
"From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. "
"From now on, let no one give me trouble, because I carry on my body the marks of the Lord Jesus."
What you've genuinely suffered for and given yourself to speaks louder than any argument. Let your life, not just your words, be the evidence of what you actually believe.
"Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. "
"Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen."
Whatever storms we've been through together in this conversation, I want to leave you with grace, not lingering tension. That's always my last word to you too.
