Building a New Contemporary
Interpretation of the KJV Bible
The People's Bible Project exists to build a brand new contemporary rendering of Scripture. Anyone can contribute their own plain-English interpretation for any verse in the KJV, explain why they worded it as such to preserve its original context, and vote on entries that resonate. At the project deadline, the most resonant renderings will be assembled into the final People's Bible—a Bible created by the people, for the people.
How We Are Building The People's Bible
From individual public contributions and exegesis explanations to a final correlated contemporary Bible.
Contribute Your Interpretation
Select any KJV verse and submit your own contemporary rendering, along with an explanation for why you chose those words to retain the KJV context.
Discuss, Contest & Vote
Read entries, examine contributor rationales, contest wording with mandatory reasons, and vote (💖) for renderings that resonate deeply with you.
Assembled into Final Bible
At the project deadline, all renderings with the highest votes and community consensus are assembled into the final published People's Bible—credited in the Official Appendix!
