Malachi Chapter 4
Showing all 6 verses for Malachi Chapter 4.
The People's Bible is written by people, for the people. Each verse below shows:
"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. "
"God says a day is coming that will burn like a furnace - all the arrogant and wicked will be like dry straw, completely burned up, left with no root and no branch, nothing left at all."
Whatever seems to be thriving dishonestly right now doesn't get the final say - I promise you that arrogance and cruelty don't actually win in the end, even when they look unstoppable today. Let that free you from needing to fight fire with fire; you don't have to secure justice yourself, because it isn't ultimately in your hands to guarantee.
"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. "
"But for those who genuinely respect God, a "Sun of righteousness" will rise, carrying healing, and they'll go out and thrive, full of energy, like young calves let loose from the stall."
If you've stayed faithful through a genuinely hard, discouraging season, real healing and freedom are coming - not just relief from difficulty, but actual joy and vitality, like an animal finally let loose to run. Don't lose heart; the waiting isn't wasted, and what's coming is worth it.
"And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. "
"You will trample down the wicked - they'll be nothing but ashes under your feet by the time this day arrives, God says."
You don't need to win every argument or force people to admit you were right, right now - real vindication doesn't need to be rushed or manufactured by you. Let go of the exhausting need to prove yourself in every moment; the truth eventually settles itself, and you can rest in that instead of fighting for it constantly.
"Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. "
"God says: remember the law given through Moses, God's servant, at Horeb (Mount Sinai) for the whole of Israel - all its statutes and rulings."
Before you go looking for some new spiritual breakthrough or fresh start, make sure you're actually living out what you already know to be right - the basics, practised consistently and honestly, matter more than novelty. I'm not usually asking you to find something new; I'm asking you to actually do what you already know.
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: "
"God promises: I will send you Elijah the prophet before that great and dreadful day of the LORD arrives."
Before any big turning point in your life, watch for the "Elijah" moments - the wake-up calls, the people who tell you hard truths, the voices calling you back to what actually matters before you reach a point of no return. I send warnings out of love, not to frighten you, but because I want you genuinely ready for what's coming.
"And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. "
"And he will turn the hearts of parents back towards their children, and the hearts of children back towards their parents - so that God doesn't have to come and strike the earth with a curse."
If there's distance between you and someone in your family - a parent, a child, anyone whose heart has drifted from yours - know that turning back towards them is exactly the kind of thing I care about most, more than any ritual, more than perfect performance of duty. Don't wait for the "right moment"; reach out honestly now, because reconciliation between people who love each other, however late it comes, is never wasted, and it is often the very thing that keeps hearts, and whole generations, from growing cold. This is how I want every story, including yours, to end: not with distance, but with hearts turned back home to one another.
